Sometimes you can take off the throttle arm from the carb, attach a 256 wire with a "Z" bend to fit the throttle arm and then slide the 256 wire back through the firewall and re-attach the throttle arm to the carb. If the arm hits the firewall and your unable to get full travel you may have to move the engine forward or cut a bigger hole in the firewall to let the throttle arm have full movement. I have ran the 256 wire through the firewall and past the throttle arm and then the 256 wire makes a 180 and comes back to the throttle arm. DonT know if these ideas will help you but it's just a thought.
