I'm trying to put a Thunder Tiger 55 four stroke in a Tower Hobbies Kaos ARF. I've swapped the throttle body around so that the throttle arm is on the right side of aircraft. (Same side as the hole in Firewall for the throttle) The throttle arm still sits pretty far from the hole and fairly close to the firewall. Suggestions and or pictures would be great and much appreciated. I'm trying to get it finished for the weekend but I've hit a brick wall.
Thanks for any help.

chopper man,
Sometimes you can take off the throttle arm from the carb, attach a 256 wire with a "Z" bend to fit the throttle arm and then slide the 256 wire back through the firewall and re-attach the throttle arm to the carb. If the arm hits the firewall and your unable to get full travel you may have to move the engine forward or cut a bigger hole in the firewall to let the throttle arm have full movement. I have ran the 256 wire through the firewall and past the throttle arm and then the 256 wire makes a 180 and comes back to the throttle arm. DonT know if these ideas will help you but it's just a thought.

Make a push rod that comes out of the regular hole, near the front of the cylinder put a 1/2" radius bend in it so it goes back to the carb, attach to the carb. If you need more info let me know, I use this set up on all my four strokes now, works great.

Thanks. If you have a picture that would be great!! The only thing is that by having the throttle arm on the right side of the engine it sits behind the cyclinder. I would think that it would be hard to get the rod bent enough to go back to the arm. Unless I'm not understanding which is most likely the case. If you had a picture I think that woulod help me a bunch.
Thanks again.

There is almost no load on the throttle arm, so something as simple as this will work.
Bring the pushrod out of the factory hole in the firewall. Bend it 90 degrees toward the throttle arm. Put it through the hole in the arm and bend it 90 degrees forward.
In other words it will be a huge Z-bend from the firewall hole to the throttle arm. Sounds sloppy, but it will work fine.

Thanks. I think that will work better than 180 degree turn because my throttle arm sits directly behind the cylinder and I would still have to make some bends after the 180 degree bend.
Thanks again. I let you know how it turns out.

I came out of the oringinal throttle hole and had to go 90 up 90 over and 90 forward and I think it can out ok. Hope to put the first flight on it tomorrow. Weather suppose to be perfect

After making more out of it than it really was reguarding the throtlle mode I flew the Kaos for the first time today. I liitle ailerion trim and she flew great. I though it would be a little faster with that TT 54 four stroke but it wasn't as fast as I figured it would be. No biggy. Now I must start on the Great Planes RV 4 ARF.
