That T-28 looks like a pretty good deal. The combination (motor/ESC/Battery pack) sound like a good matchup. And for all that, the price looks very competetive. This may be worth a try.

I am not sure if this will need a regular field to launch on.. may be a bit much for a large field.

If you DO decide on the T-28, make sure you read the manual supplement provided at Horizon. It is about the proper setting of the CG (Center of Gravity). Most important for new RC'ers to understand and properly set the CG.
