I run the KT spring idler system but with the stock plastic tracks. That combo works, with no more KT track problems (very short springs too).
And your right, the Tamiya KT's size is not ideal on a tight battlefield. Similar issues were faced in the Ardennes in Dec 1944, on those farm roads and lanes, I guess.
My Sherman and Tiger I remain my favorite battle day drivers and they are built fairly stock including using the Tamiya kit tracks.
The Jadgpanther is an indoor house cat, just wanted to build it. Have no intention of fighting it. The Panther is a work in progress and I have no plans to fight it either.
