RE: will Rust-oleum paint a canopy?
Over fifteen years ago, it was known that some Rustoleum colors were fuel proof (glow fuel) and that some were not. A friend of mine painted his then new Byron Husky with white Rustoleum paint. It took a while to thoroughly cure, but was fuel proof enough after the curing finished. What a beautiful plane that was.
Others discovered that some of the then present formulations were suspected to not be as fuel proof, but I've often wondered if they permitted the paint to cure properly. I don't know if this was the problem, or if it truly was a matter of different Rustoleum formulations being fuel proof or not fuel proof. Surely, in all of that time, the Rustoleum formulas have changed considerably.
