It should work fine. I have painted the majority of my canopies and cowls with Rustoleum and other enamel paints that can be found in hardware stores. So far, I had zero problems.

Krylon Fusion in the rattle can. This stuff was designed for all types of plastic. They advertise using on lawn furnature etc. This works great on cowls, canopies, wheel pants, etc.
I haven't tried it on monokote yet, but that's a side job for this weekend.

Over fifteen years ago, it was known that some Rustoleum colors were fuel proof (glow fuel) and that some were not. A friend of mine painted his then new Byron Husky with white Rustoleum paint. It took a while to thoroughly cure, but was fuel proof enough after the curing finished. What a beautiful plane that was.

Others discovered that some of the then present formulations were suspected to not be as fuel proof, but I've often wondered if they permitted the paint to cure properly. I don't know if this was the problem, or if it truly was a matter of different Rustoleum formulations being fuel proof or not fuel proof. Surely, in all of that time, the Rustoleum formulas have changed considerably.

I assume your canopy will be totaly opaque with the Rustoleum. I spay the inside of the canopy when I want that this effect. The result is perfect and also protected since it is on the inside, etc.
