I was just wondering how many tanks of fuel I should run through to break it in so I know how much I need to purchase.

Naturally that would depend on tank size which you didn't mention. Seriously, burn 2 tanks on the ground and go fly just slightly richer than normal. 2 more tanks like that and break-in will be complete. It will still take about a full gallon to get to optimum and best idle but you'll get there without further ado.
