I'm sure you have probably checked it, but the DL cap fits VERY tightly on the plug, and can be sort of "partly" connected, still spark sometimes, and miss. Could be the miss you had....I know all three of my DL (RcExcell)ignition caps are really hard to put on because they grip so tightly.

But once on, they ain't working themselves loose, I can tell you that!!!!!!!
