Default RE: DL-50 engine

ORIGINAL: Spadkun

Running problems might be due to ignition timing. If you have a look at Bob's most excellent web site and download the RC exl ignition
instructions, it includes a timing disc to print out. They recommend the timing set at 28 to 30 degrees btdc static. Is this the correct setting for this engine? Anyone checked the timing on their DL yet?
You know, you ask a GREAT question!!!!! On all three of mine, they have run so well, that it never occurred to me to even check. All of mine do have the sensor housing full CCW as you are looking at the front of the engine, which would be the most retarded setting (mechanically).

May be worth looking at some time, just to know.... good point to make!
