Also, have there been any examples flying with the split rudder and 170's for power? Will it be strong enough to withstand the vibration and fuel residue that the glow motors dish out?
The split rudder will be fine regardless of choice of powerplants. It is glassed and then painted on the outside and some type of iron on film on the inside. If I were going glo all I would change is the number of hinges used. Add another hinge and I think it will be fine.
