About 15 years ago (maybe more) I saw the prototype for the Jet Model Products T-33 fly at the Greater SW Fan Fly. It was designed and built by Tom Sewell and was powered by an OS .91 in a Dynamax fan. I decided right then, that I would have to own one.
Then Tom Cook decided to make it an all composite airframe, which took it out of my price range. But in the back of my mind, it was always one of the planes I would have to have someday. Well, today I bought one of the very early airframes from a friend of mine. It was built for DF but converted to turbine before it ever flew. It was originally flown with a JetCat Hammer, the predecessor of the P-80.
The Hammer is now disassembled in a box (don’t ask). So I’ll install my JetCat Titan in it until I can either have the Hammer repaired or purchase a new turbine for it. I can’t wait to check it all out and get it airworthy again.
Sorry, Buck. Your F-18 got moved to the floor.
