You balance it at the same point for flying.

You'll find that the proper location for the main gear falls right under the radio compartment forward bulkhead, great structurally, but a PITA to put in. On mine I put it right behind the bulkhead and lived with needing to give up elevator during taxing , some put in in front of the bulkhead which for landing isn't quite as good technically, but works out well in practice.
