Default RE: DL-50 engine

I received a new DL-50 from DLUSA about a week ago. Ran it for the first time yesterday. It took a while to start the first time but that was not unexpected. After it was running for 20 min. as outlined in the break in instructions it would accelerate smoothly and had good power. I am very happy with it. The only issue I have is a small pin hole where the stack is welded to the muffler can. It left a trail of residue down the length of the muffler.

My friend had ordered the engine on his credit card for me. I asked him to call DLUSA to ask if I should return it and have them record me as the owner. I guess they have people trying to get them to warranty engines they didn't sell. They gave my friend a little bit of a hard time but agreed to take the muffler back. I decided it was not worth the hassle so I will just use some JB Weld for now.

I'll send them a picture of the serial number and the email with the shipping info they send out so they will know we are not trying to scam them on warranty. I hope never to need warranty service, but that is why I got it from DLUSA. Next time I'll just mail a money order.
