I use JR not Hitec. Initially I flew my Flip 3D with standard JR servos on the tail. I tought it was ok. After my heli crashed I have a few Hi torque Digitals laying around. Fit it to my Flip and it really becomes a better flying plane than before. More responsive and better knife edge flight.

IMHO any brand digital servo would be better than a similiarly rated non digital. If you could afford it, go for it.
