Default RE: FAST 3d plane

Recty:

Speed and 3d are generally not compatable, with either the airframe or engine wanting in each application, WITH A FEW EXCEPTIONS. I do fly a streemlined Q-500 type 4.75 lb. airplane that will do well over 150, but it is powered by the only engine I know of capable of low idle, great transtion and wopping rpms in the area of 19K, a Jett 60LX. Its a 60 in a 40 case, simply a wonderful engine. I have two, trying to justify one more. Oh yes, the airplane will come screaming in from a drive, almost wall, climb for 20-30' catch it with power and hover, torque roll, elevator all nice and solid. You might get 110 or so with a OS or TT, but never pull a 8.75 X 8.5 apc to high rpm, idle and hover, just not enough power or quality there. Quality, yes, I expect my Jetts to outlive me by a bunch. Worth $450.00, you bettcha. One now 6 years old spends summer racing, the winters 3D-n. Still very tight on top and outruns all but other Jetts. ENJOY
