I was kidding 'bout the racer. the Sundowner truly is built for speed. It will be okay at aerobatics, but 3D will be a challenge, as the control surfaces are relatively small, and I doubt they will have much authority during stalled flight.

If you really want a mix of both, pick a sturdy 3D plane and overbuild it. I am guessing that a lack of counterbalances on the elevators and rudder will be a good thing, so look for that. What size plane are you looking for?
