This was news to me... just received a email notifying that a post of mine was deleted because I used a foreign language:
While I usually write in English, is some occasions I use other language to help or even talk in other cultures terms to comunicate in more precise terms ... for example, a guy from Venezuela posted a pic of his Byron F-16 without English knowledge (kudos to him) using a terrible electronic translator and I used Spanish to warm him from a potential problem he had in his linkages. In other recent occation I used Portuguese to congratulate some jet guys in Portugal about their next event.
I was really surprised with this attitude from a RCU moderator, and it triggered a red light on my panel... if a comercial or political attitude is taking out my freedom away to talk and help others to enjoy our hobby, a corrective measure must be taken, from any of the parts envolved.
So now I am kind of waiting a official position on RCU on this subject, to see if this a new 2008 house rule or if it was just a moderator issue...
Sorry for my rant to all my friends here, Enrique.
Enrique
Is the post in question in the Jets forum or another forum? Could you point me towards the thread and I will investigate the reason it was deleted and inform you of my findings ASAP.
To the best of my knowledge, it I have not seen any RCU rules that prohibits posting in another language. I might be wrong but I will check into it and get back with you.
Meanwhile, I’m closing this thread as it is heading south already.
Enrique, please send me the necessary information through PM.
Best Regards
