You may notice little shims... they are supposed to sit flat against the case. (going by memory, forgive me). I pinched one when reassembling the rear diff on my hurricane and it caused a real "notchy grinding feel". I disassembled it and found the pinched shim was causing extra pressure, fixed it and all is good now.
