It depends on many things not the least of which is what plane you are flying.

Slow circles are OK of you have a Cub and expect it to land itself in a farmer's field somewhere. BUT if you are flying a Jet with the throttle to the firewall - it's a different story. []

I knew a Jet Jock that had his fail safe set for throttle off and a snap roll - the idea was that IF the plane is out of control - bleed off as much energy as possible NOW! Before it goes too far and before it hits anything... [&o]

He considered it an intelligent thing to do rather than have a long range missle ... [sm=frown.gif]

I gave him full marks for the ability to write off the AC before it could hurt someone. [sm=thumbs_up.gif]
