Default RADIO RANGE 10XJR

Hi Gary:

We and a freind both have 10x and tubines. Last summer we did a lot

of testing when we were unable to get any range with the antenna off the tx.

Long and short of this testing was you need to make sure you have a voltage regulator if your are using a 5 cell 6v pak as we found this to be the problem with the range when used with a 6v pak unregulated dn to
4.8v.

Talke to Jr tech and they dont seem to acknowledge this anomaly.

After putting the regulator on or using a 4.8v pak the range was 60-70yds and counting. With antenna back on signal was rock solid with engine running and off out to a distance of at least 1/2-3/4 mile as that was the limit of our test area.

Test was done with model on the ground and the tx held at hip ht.
Our particular model is equipped with a whip antenna that has been tuned to the reciever.

In our testing we also changed receivers, bat paks, switches, wiring harnesses, antennas. The fix was pretty simple.

Good luck, try this and see if yours is the same. Will be interested to hear how you come out.

Rolling out.
