It sounds like you are using a "vector push" setup where the speed of the motors is varied for steering instead of a rudder.It's a good thing you are using foam because 180 motors won't push much weight.The cheap radio gear you are using won"t take the amps of larger motors so you are stuck with what you have.The speed depends on the weight so build as light as possible![8D]
