By a similar fashion, one could take that same nitro glow plug and use it to ignite a very small black powder propellant charge packed in a metal barrel with a small amount of tissue wadding. As long as you used just
a few grains of powder the result would be mainly flash and quite a bit of smoke.
If I could devise a way of making it fire more than once, in a repetitive fashion, I would make it happen.

Swath no i am not... But i learned of a way to launch rockets or bottle rockets with ease...if there was some type of fire work rocket that would slide down our tank barrels...here is how it would work...
You would use a thin wire ellement RC nitro glow plug wire it up in the barrel some how so when you push a button electric goes into the glow plug and mekes the ellement glow red...now if you had a lets say bottle rocket stuffed down a tube so that the fuse is tutching the glow plug...when you turn on the glow plug wammo the fuse gets lit and rocket flys like a bat out of hell!!!
