Totally agree with the thermometer. I got one from the local hobby shop before I started covering, 'cos I'm a sceptical little bugger when it comes to things like built-in thermostats As it happens, the iron I have (Coverite 21st Century Covering Iron) seems to hold the dialled in temperature really well! As far as I can tell from the tiny dial, it's about +/- 5f from the dialled in temperature.

The one thing that makes me really nervous about the covering process is using a heat gun to shrink the covering when the edges are tacked down. I'm always more than a little concerned that I'm going to accidentally melt a hole through the covering! So far, so good though.

Can't wait for the day that I actually get to take her up.
