Must I cut a more robust opening in the three sections of the aileron for these hinges to slide in Does the tpin set the correct depth for these hinges? WHat material are these hinges made of?

BTW thanks for the help on the covering, I used the heat gun and a sock and let it cool and it looks much better! Thanks again!!
