Default RE: Newbie covering question. Please help

Pete,
You mentioned that this is your first plane and the questions indicate that you are a true beginner.
Before I go any farther I want to tell you that I want you to be successful and I do not want you to crash your plane.
What I am about to tell you is something that you do not want to hear, but it something you need to know.
A couple of others have touched on it but I will go ahead and tell you straight up the P47 is not a beginner's plane, and it is probably not even a good second plane.
I know you have spent a lot of money, and the plane is really cool but the fastest least expensive path to successfully flying this plane is to buy yourself a trainer, join the local RC club and get an instructor to teach you how to fly.
Use this link to find clubs in your area http://www.modelaircraft.org/clubsearch.aspx
A couple of the moderators here on RCU have started a new website for beginners http://www.gettingairborne.com/index.html there is a lot of information that will help you there.
To address the question you asked about CA hinges ... here is a link so you can see what they look like http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXK110&P=ML there are some different types but this is typical .... most of the time you do not have to make the slit bigger for the CA hinge to fit .... the T-pin keeps the hinge from being pushed into the wing or control surface .... remove the T-pin before applying the CA (cyanoacrylate adhesive (CA glue))
