Default Micro-iceberg dual-drive setup

I recently bought a MHZ micro-iceberg on ebay, with all the hardware less motors and escs included. Amongst the things included were a servo-y lead extension (which i assume is for both ESCs) to go into the receiver. Also with the stuff was a simprop v-mixer. I've seen similar stuff advertised elsewhere "for use with dual-drive boats", but not sure whether adding this mixer will help or not. Finally my ESCs and motors for the Micro-Iceberg are here and so far hooked them up using the y-leads (not tried it in the water)....What will the channel mixer do? how do i hook it up? basically it's got 2 female sockets and 2 male plugs (jr brown, red and yellow type)...any ideas? anyone?
