if you are going to the trouble drilling the firewall and useing a pitts style muffler i would mount the engine at 90degree,then the only problem you will have is cutting the outlets for the exhaust pipes.all of the pitts style mufflers i have used have improved the performance of my engines.some supertiger engines need one pipe plugged for proper back pressure.i am not sure about the tower engines.
