I noticed that also. This is probably a servo arm dumper, (it is made of an RC car shock absorber) so that it does not vibrate and cause the surfaces to move at idle, it also eliminates battery consumption during idle. Reminds me a bit of the YS type M mount.

It would be interesting if we had some more photos and explanations by Kjell.
