Thanks for the info. I thought that was the case since I know the chrome is a finish and not the product.

I don't race, but I do bash the thing on dirt, gravel and grass so the white wheels I currently have are pretty scratched, so I can imagine the chromed wheels look worst. Knowing they will peal at some point I thought that if the plastic was black and not white it wouldn't be that visible, but if the plastic under the chrome finish is white it will look worst than I'm willing to have it look. I may just have to go with black wheels, since I suspect black wheel are made of black plastic and not necessarily white plastic painted black.
