Keep the gear down. Never raise the landing gear on a maiden. Just trim, fly, and landall within 6 or 7 minutes.
When landing, fly the plane all the way down.
Why keep the gear down? I have maidened a few retract equiped planes and always retract the gear. It would be a little hard to trim properly with the gear down in the wind. Just wondering,
