I'm 15 and its been two years since my first pattern contest. One thing that you have to remember is that rhis is supposed to be a fun event. Another thing is to pay attention to what some of the better pilots do in the air and maintenance, so that you can pick up any new ideas that you can use. But really enjoy the experience of your first competition and don't be worried. You'll do very good.
