RE: planes and parts
warrath blacktiger,
The plane looks like a Sig Kadet. I’m not sure if it’s a Kadet Senior or Kadet Seniorita, but suspect Seniorita. The wing has been modified – it’s been clipped and barndoor ailerons added. The pockets in front of the ailerons are most likely for the servos.
The engines are gas engines and are not suitable for a plane like the Kadet. Beyond that I have no clue as to the manufacturer or any other info on those.
The radio is a Futaba Conquest 6. It’s a 6-channel with dual rates and is still a good radio. Drawback to yours is its AM which is more susceptible to interference, and it doesn’t have a trainer port. Is it legal? You need to find out what frequency it’s on, and if it is narrow band (silver stickered will be single conversion, gold stickered will be dual conversion or narrow band). If it’s on the older frequency spectrum, then you have a shelf ornament. If it’s gold stickered then it’ll be legal to fly. Batteries will cost about $50.00 – the TX battery has connectors that look like a 9v battery, and the RX battery will have a “G” connector on it (modern Futaba radios have a “J”). If it is a dual conversion, then receiver will have “J” plugs on it. I have the same exact radio – AM and gold stickered - and just put new batteries in it.
If you can get the model number for the receiver and servos, we’ll be able to give you a more positive identification of what you have. Also the wingspan and length of the plane.
