2Slow brings up a good point: do you have the Evo set up with the 'trainer power system'(TPS)? And are you using the 3 bladed prop that comes with Evo trainers? The TPS uses that flywheel which you can take off for more performance, and the 3 bladed prop they use (not all 3 bladed props) is designed for training purposes and is not as sporty as most other props.
