Right after making a prat of myself thought i would try and ask another question. Got the DL to tickover at 1,900 rpm, and rev upto 7,000rpm. The only thing is that at throttle shut on the tx i get 1,900 rpm, at 1/4 throttle i get 6,800 rpm, at full throttle i get 7,000rpm. What do you lads do to make the throttle curve more useable?
This is pretty typical on a gas engine, the throttle butterfly movement is not linear. I have a throttle curve (JR) on mine that is something like, 0 10 26 30 36 46 100. One way of doing it is to tach your rpm at idle and then at full throttle and adjust your curve to give 50% at half throttle etc. Personally I adjust the curve by going to full throttle and then bringing the stick back a click and adjust to give a drop in RPM and carrying on reducing until idle. I then adjust it to suit my flying style.
