RE: Tower Trainer vs Avistar
I've trained students on both. Both airplanes are excellent products. The Avistar is a slightly more capable airplane, but consequently is slightly more difficult to teach slower learning students with (not that you are one). You really can't go wrong either way, but since the price of the Tower trainer is better I would go with that.
