Nice to know that it is legal.
Too bad that the events are so regional.
But at least there are a couple of guys around to contact.

SPA has been around since it was formed in the Atlanta area in 1991, but only recently has it spread beyond the three states that have had long-standing contests. Like any organization, it grows through interest by a nucleous of modelers in a given area. We now have chapters in the NJ, CT, etc area (Northeast Chapter), the Pacific Northwest, Florida, the Midwest centered in Indiana, with a lot of new members in Texas, Oklahoma, and Mississippi. Our goal is to eventually become a nationwide organization, but these things take time, remember it all starts with a minimum of only 5 enthusiastic participants with guidance from SPA leadership. We would LOVE to have a California chapter or two, but it has to start somewhere. If you can get a few of your buddies interested, it could be the beginning of the Southern California Chapter.
