RE: Eagle50
Crambell and Kolls, I'll be happy to keep you guys up to date on my progress. So far the motor I am trying is of the outrunner type. I got it installed O.K. but with a 11 tooth pinion gear, the head speed was way too fast. I have got a 8,9 and 10 tooth pinions coming and one of those should slow it down to a more reasonable speed. I don't know if you guys are interested but have found cnc machined parts for the rotor head. Check out cnchelicopter.com, walkera22e page. Just be for warned, the ball links were a little to large of the eagle links. They bound up so bad that the servos would not center correctly. I removed each ball chucked it up in a drill and sanded about .003" off them. That fixed the problem. Afterwards I have discovered that there are, and I not joking, link stretchers available. These tools are used to reshape the ball link sockets which can get damaged during removal and installation. I don't know if that would work too. It took me about two and half hours to polish all the balls.
Anyway, happy flying, and I'll keep you posted.
