Video of my first start or my DL-50 in a PW Extra 25%. [link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kC_UDWVII8]DL-50 first start video[/link]
Nelvick,
I didn't watch the entire video, but just a couple of comments or suggestions:

Your plane restraint made me nervous, it looks like a car battery which the DL50 could easily drag if you accidently started it a full throttle. Been there.

I have found the engine to start better if you don't start the flip with the engine on its compression as you were doing. In other words, back the prop off about 90-120 degrees from where you are starting it now, then drive it through compression. I had been struggling to get one of my DL50's started and once I changed the technique, it will start on three flips on a cold start. The reason for this is the spark starts approximately 28 degrees BTDC.

I'm jealous on not being in Florida right now. We left Fort Myers two weeks ago to return to Minnesota after spending the winter there, and today is the first day it got to 70 degrees. My wife and I are the only people around in long sleeves shirts and long pants.
