My cowl is a tight fit but not so tight it causes a problem.
My elevator joiner was fine, filled the holes with epoxy and pushed it in, lined up fine.

I recently took the soft mount off mine as it was too soft and the engine movement was wearing the 'O' ring in the hatori pipe prematurely, its all going great again.
