I do have two questions though.
Just exactly how tight should the belt be.
And second, I have heard of guys oiling the belt. Why would you ever put oil on a drive belt?

Just tight enough that if you are holding the tail blades you can't make the belt slip by turning the main rotor by hand under moderate pressure. I run my belt just this side of slipping for the least amount of drag. You can tell the difference try doing it tight and spin the rotors, then try it just this side of loose and spin the rotors.
You oil the belt to eliminate drag and static. I do it like once a month.
