Hello everyone, this is my first post in RCU forum. I hope my english is correct

:
I'm going to prepare a test bench for fisrt run of my DL50 (this is my first gas engine) so I have to drill my wood propeller according to the DL drive washer (I'm building a proper jig with my lathe & mill for this pourpose). As I've seen different drilling arrangement on the web, I'm now not sure about best drilling jig orientation for drilling the prop: with holes in line with prop blade (like a "+") or with holes in "X" position" ? Please see the two different examples into the attached picture.
Thanks a lot and sorry again for my bad english

I drill mine so that one blade is at about 1:00 to 2:00 clock position when the prop is slowly rotated CCW and the compression can be felt. This can save you quite effort during the start step. The clock position can be easily translated to the drill position, based on your engine. I recall X pattern is quite close to the ideal drill position.
