My Skybolt has just under 9" from the shaft to the ground.

It's gear isn't the stiffest you'll find on most 8-10lb models. If you land with the prop turning, you need to consider gear flex. Over the years, my gear has relaxed a number of times and needed straightening.

I fly off of grass mostly. That's probably a 13x6 prop in the picture. (Picture taken back in 2006.) It's got how much clearance?

All the props I fly on that airplane show grass stains.

That's an OS61FX on the airplane. Gives really good vertical.
