Hey folks , 1st post here. Please forgive me if this post is not in the right spot or this topic has been discussed previously - this forum is huge !
I am new to quality electric planes , but have been racing rc cars for many years and have been flying a Hangar 9 P-51 PTS plane for a short while , as well as various park flyer foamies and whatnot.
I recently got the Hyperion Spitfire " super scale glass series" 25e with the power set. What a great looking bird ! However .... I got her all built and was tinkering around getting ready for the maiden flight this weekend, and I had the 10 X 10 apc prop intalled, I decided to switch to the 10 X 7 for the first flight as recommend. As I was bolting it on the motor shaft and tightening it down - THE MOTOR SHAFT SNAPPED RIGHT OFF !!

. The shaft itself broke in two , leaving me with the prop nut with a piece of the shaft through it in one hand , and the motor with the rest of the shaft still in the nose of the plane. I was not giving it the Gorilla grip or anything , just hand tight and then a good snugging.
Has anyone experienced this before?
Now I can't get the prop adapter off whats left of the shaft either . [

I know I am a total noobie to this set up - is there something I did wrong ?
Does anyone have a link to video or text that gives tips to mounting these items in this type of set up ?
