How far in the Programming you stop? What make you belive your controller does not have an LED light? You know the LED is not round like a dome like the one you usualy see everywhere. On the ESC it look more like a smal block on the board. The instructions said that the LED will not flash until the speed controller is in the programming mode setting. If your not getting to this point maybe the ESC is not reading the throttle stick movement, check the endpoints off the stick on your Tx.

You dont have to fly the plane to verify if the brake is on after you do the programming steps just hold the plane in your hand or ask for help to hold it and apply power and then go to idel if the prop stop sudently the brake is on if keep spining then you know.
