RE: Transferring settings between transmitters
There are a couple differences. Expo is one that comes to mind. With a Futaba, - expo is soft in the center, while JR + is soft in the center. I think that as long as you kept this in mind and made the approiate corrections, you should be able to transfer the setup over. Just remember that there are some variances however small between two radios of the same make an vintage. They are very minor, but they do exist. You should be within a couple clicks of trim though.
I crashed my first 4*60. I built a second and set it up mechanically the same as the first. Same servo types, a different receiver, but the mechanical setup was the same. I made no TX changes for the new plane. The first flight only took a couple clicks to put things the same as the first plane. Electronics today allow a very narrow band differences between components. It is not unreasonable to think that if you tell a servo to move 25 degrees on a Futabe or on a JR, that it should move 25 degrees. You may have a slight linear movement difference due to the stick pot difference, but it should be very close.
