I have used the simulator for some time before i got a plane into the air last night with a trainer but it helps a lot. I would not use chase mode where you are looking from right behind the plane like in a video game. I would use the ground view because you cant fly behind your plane while your flying it. The controls will make more sence and you will learn all of it faster. You will learn how to judge your landings and speed too. I have the realflight G3.5 i love it.
