Default RE: Chip Hyde's Cap-X - Building & Flying

Still flying mine as well although I am not very happy with the current set up. I'm running a Saito 220 with a 24oz fuel tank. Its way to heavy!!! It feels like i'm flying a rock. I am considering downsizing to a saito 180 with an 18oz tank. A 180 still has ample power for this plane. I need to lower the wing load. Carbon fiber landing gear would help too. As far as going gas for this plane in my opinion you will have to sacrafice to much weight to get the power needed. I guess it would be OK for basic flying, but, for any kind of aerobatics to heavy. If you want to go gas get into a 50cc class plane with 85"+/- wing span
