Rich, I'm relatively new to this conversion game, but the best advice I can give you is to make friends with your local small engine mechanic/dealer.

I recently asked my local guy if he had any old/spare carb's that might suit a Homelite. I walked away with a box full of 20+ carbs. I searched here for model numbers, picked the best 4 from the box, then gave the rest back. Blessed! He then told me he had a heap of old Homelite and other surplus small engines that I could pick through whenever I wanted. For the record, his name is John Ireland, and he runs a business called Allgear in north-west Australia (thanks John).

To guys like John these small carbs & engines are often next to worthless. To us mob, they're gold. Go and introduce yourself to the local small engine dealer/mechanic.... tell him what you're after and you might be surprised at how generous he is (if not, take a case of beer!)
