Default RE: ZERO EXPERIENCE

A 43" hull is quite the jump in to FE boating when one does not have any experience. If you still wish to go ahead with it here are a few of the big dollar items to push such a large hull.

4 of these wired for 8s2p http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXRWB0&P=7
1 of these http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXTJH7&P=7
1 of the 1.5Y motor http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...?prod=neu-2215

That should get you around 60mph.

Typically a cat hull will be slightly faster than a mono hull. They both can handle chop well in most cases.
