Stick packs only last for a few starts and then need recharged, a gel cell lasts an extremely long time.
i use stick packs in my Mugen box & it lasts ages between charges! i think i charge mine about every 3 meetings or so
i race abroad quite a bit & the restrictions on baggage weight rule out a 12v gel cell [:'(]
if i had a really heavy starterbox i'd have to leave something at home & when you're away you need as much stuff with you as possible
